This is the third workshop on this subject. Luther wrote alot about how to do battle with the devil. In modern times, we downplay his effect on the world and on us….this is another deception that plays into the devil’s hand. “A Christian should know that he is sitting among devils and that the devil is closer to him than his coat or shirt, nay, closer than his own skin….” Thankfully, we have a stronger Lord, Christ, who has overcome and bound the devil. How do we deal with him? Luther says, “One does not gain much ground against the devil with a lengthy disputation but with brief words and replies, such as: I am a Christian, of the same flesh and blood as in my Lord Christ, the Son of God, Settle your account with Him. Then the devil does not stay long.”
Thank you to Pastor Carl Lutz who led us through this fascinating study. Next Monday we study End Times from the Lutheran perspective with Rev. Richard Schmidt. We are grateful for these servants who invest of their very selves in the mission field in Tijuana.
