LLL District Meeting

Governor Lou Marting and District President Steve Rice led the meeting with VP Tom Clarke.  We met at the historic First Lutheran Church in the San Fernando Valley, west of Los Angeles.  They have approved $300 a month for the rental of the office space in Tijuana and the fund necessary to send me to the District Convention in Kentucky.

I met Vicar Jun who is serving the Japanese people in Irvine, California. His photo appeared in the Laymen and a Japanese exchange student in Michigan contacted him and he began bible classes via web camera with her and she has professed faith and will be baptized in the local Lutheran church in Michigan!  Vicar Jun’s sermons are also taped and so the exchange student is part of this national ministry which will soon be global because in May the exchange student returns to Japan and will certainly talk about her experience with the Lord and Pastor Jun!  I talked to his wife about attending the LWML District Convention in the summer.  She was also a missionary to Paraguay and speaks Spanish!

I got to meet the woman from Lancaster who heads up the Bible marking project for our ministry in Tijuana.  She tells me some of the ladies are in their 80’s.  That just goes to prove that God gives us important ministry work at every age!  Thank you dear sisters in Christ!
