Legna is under the weather. The climate changes (and lots of activity) have affected her asthma. Probably all the adobe brick making hasn’t helped either. Legna is leading her youth team to build a youth center out of adobe bricks which they are making themselves! Please pray for her health. She went to the health center this morning which is part of our benefit package but health care here in Mexico is very bureaucratic and you have to wait in alot of lines. It takes about three trips. That is why many people just visit the neighborhood pharmacy and have the pharmacist prescribe something for the ailments.
We received a love gift this week for the support of Legna and the proyecto JOEL from schools in the Pacific southwest District. We are so grateful for the partnership of children, teachers and staff of our Lutheran Schools. THANK YOU Director of School Ministries Rachel Klitzing for being an advocate for children and youth on this side of the border! We have completed raising the funds for Legna’s salary and the JOEL program up until January so we only have February to May 31 (which is the end of our fiscal year) to raise.

Tomorrow I travel to St. Louis to participate in the Assembly of Leaders for the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League and will be presenting for one of the plenary sessions on Intercultural Learning as we are unveiling our new resource called : Living and Learning Heart to Heart: Intercultural Learning Experiences to Build Positive Relationships in a Multicultural World. This resource will be available in a few weeks through the www.lwml.org office. Please pray for this event and that God will teach us all something new about the ONE HUMAN RACE He made. I have the coveted after dinner spot…….!!!
