Because of the swine flu mess, our Mother’s Day celebration was delayed. The girls put together corsages from bits and pieces of donated items. The mothers appreciated the little gift…..and seemed to walk taller and straighter!

Four Hundred 10 socks were distributed to children on the Day of the Child! Each child received 2 pairs. Quilts and stuffed animals were also distributed. Thanks for the LWML women from their Undie Sundie effort (the last little bit) and the Orphan Grain Train!

Windows change everything! They were installed on Saturday. Thanks to a generous donation from the P.M. family this has been possible. Word has just been received last weekthat the Ioway partners will support the purchase of the building supplies for the interiors as well as our Concordia Lutheran Church partners. Thank you!

I attended the Southern California Lutheran Laymen´s League District Meeting. It was a good time of fellowship and of hearing about the ministries going on through Lutheran Hour. It is slow at the border because 7 Mexican traffic cops were killed in a half hour last MOnday. So, no more traffic police directing traffic. It has added to our wait……one hour at the high security late of SENTRI. Pray for all people living on the border.
